Hello.
Lookin at the ca tiger .44 for a ccw option. im a big guy at 6ft 350lbs so im lookin for a meaty gripped revolver thats smaller size.
I like the tiger and its a lighter gun but Im gettin mixed reviews on the weights n size??
Anyone know the weight? Ive heard everything from 16oz to 21 oz?? Whats the overall thickness of it? Can I change the regular hammer out for a more shrouded type hammer to keep pants from snaggin?
I know there are tons of better smaller options and I do like the kahr cm9 but Im really diggin this tiger. Tnx for any help. RR:D

The weight is 21.5 ounces. Don't know the measurements on thickness, but cylinder thickness is about the same as a Colt Detective Special.

You can buy a bobbed hammer from Charter Arms for the gun. It's not a big deal to swap them out. They have an online store that carries the hammer as well as other accessories.

Isn't it just a Bulldog with a fancy paint job? If so, Lowercase is right on all counts.

You can bob the hammer with a dremel if you feel so inclined.

Also, the size is somewhere between a J and K frame.

i know there is newer and maybe better ammo out there but i always like a 200grn hollow point winchester silver tip out of the bull dog :D ...it just seems right to me

Unless Charter Arms has seriously changed their quality control I would never rely or trust one as my CCW weapon.

*Every* Charter Arms product I have owned or seen had some problems. Several years ago I gave up on them altogether and now don't even waste my time looking at them any more.

I say this in context that if you have not yet purchased your gun be certain, very certain, there are no issues with it. Then consider this, no matter how good their warantee, if it breaks at the wrong time that warantee is meaningless.

If your budget allows another option I strongly recommend looking at another manufacturer.

Happy Holidays,

Rob
