Anyone out there have experience with the new Charles Daly DDA 10 45? It's the new polymer DA/SA 10+1 45 (also comes in 40 S&W). The July 2000 Handguns Magazine had a pretty good write up on them. I just handled the "full size" version of the .45 at a local shop. Nice balance and trigger. Has cocked and locked capability. The shop's price was $462.00, much too high I think. Very nice feel to the grip too. The compact model would be great for CCW.

I just got their new catolog yesterday. You can request one on their web site/ www.charlesdaly.com I am picking up a new Field FS 1911 tomorrow, can't wait to shoot it! The compact was tempting but I chose the full size because of the extra 2 rounds of capacity. I didn't know they made so many different versions untill I received their catolog. The polymer 45's look good on paper. They are stating it is based on the CZ design. I will post on my new Daly after I get a few rounds thru it. FWIW. :)

Yeah, I got their catalog via internet. That's what made me curious about the poly model. I always have like the CZ-75 design in whatever platform (ie Witness/TA-90/TZ-75/IMI Jericho/Baby Eagle). The DDA 10-45 just had a great feel to it. The catalog doesn't list having a nickel or hardchrome slide, but the 7/00 Handguns Magazine shows a Fuchsia frame (Barf!!!) with a silver slide on page 55. Compact model with Black frame/silver slide would be sharp.
Can't wait to hear your report on the 1911.

Gun Tests Magazine (no adverstising, something like Consumer Reports) tested it last month and said, "Don't buy." Too many problems.

Its beasically a CZ-75 clone, and comparable guns are available with better reliability and accuracy. (They rated the Ruger P-97 much higher, and rated the much larger CZ-97 as the best. The Ruger is cheaper than the Charles Daly DDA.)
