Charles Daly 1911s

Some one on here has a nickel Daly with Hogue rubber grips. It looks so nice! Its drawn my attention and I want to learn more about it. The Daly 1911s seem to be resonably priced, and have some features that more expensive 1911s have. I have heard that the mags that come with it are crap, and cause feeding problems. Is this the only problem? Hows the craftsmanship? Fit, finish? I'm young (21), poor, and in love with 1911s. They feel so good to me. HELP!

Have one.......

mine was an early model that was a little rough around the edges but I have seen some lately and I like them better than the one I have. The price is definately right. The mags are NOT crap that is for sure I have 5 of them. They are mecgar if I remember correctly. They are a supplier to some of the big names in the firearms market. I've also been to the importer for parts(that I broke) KBI in Harrisburg PA. Up the road from where I live. They are a good bunch of people. Any specific questions PM me. I would say buy one. Hope that this helps. DAROGUE1

I just bought a New Charles Daly 1911. It went out the door for 430$ with many of the features found on guns costing twice as much. I would rate this gun as fair. I think it has the most bang for the low end buck. A Springfield Armory Mil-Spec runs about 430$, but doesn't a beavertail grip safety & commander style hammer, lowered & flared ejection port, Novak style sights, etc. It is a decent shooter, but I'm going to install a Dwyer Group Gripper and see how much improvement that yields.

Like I said, the Charles Daly is a lot of bang for the buck.
