Charles Daly 1911 owners here?

I traded a Sigma 40 for a CD 45,about even I guess,I'm not real happy with it.It is cheaper for a reason, look at the hammer it's pot metal, compare it to a Kimber side by side and you can see the difference. Mine slam fires sometimes and wont stay cocked because the cut in the hammer is at the wrong angle and wont completely catch the sear all the time, it catches on the first click saftey in stead of staying cocked back. It's ok to make noise with and shoot targets mine is really quite accurate @ 15-25yds. about a 2" group if I hold steady.I like to shoot my Blackhawk more though,I don't have to chase the brass.

I've had one for just over 2 years. Mine works fine, but the it seems to mangle the last casing out of the mag. But thats a Magazine problem more and a Firearm problem, because if I use one of the other mags it not a problem. the only problem I have had is that the front sight came off one time, but since mine, they have changed the front sight.

Just brought mine home tonight. I don't know which model it is but it's the govt size .45. I checked it out. The slide to frame fit is tight with little or no play, the bbl bushing is slightly loose but not excessive. The bbl is timed right, I can feel the lugs slightly draggin the pin, bbl fit to slide is tight with a slight amount of play. Overall seems that it's tight enough to give good accuracy without reliability problems. I didn't like the rubber grips and changed them for the ultra slim Wilson grips. The grip bushings were staked in. It has all the bells and whistles, ambi safety, FLGR, extended slide stop, beavertail. The beavertail is one of the drop in kind that doesn't require modifying the frame. For $300 I thought it was a steal. I won't have a chance to put in any range time until next week so I can't say about reliability but from what I've seen it looks good.

I owned a compact 2tone Charles daly for about a whole 24 hours..Took it out the day after I brought it home, and it had 2 malfunctiuons and would stay locked back on last round of either magazine I used. Took itr back that same day to my local gunshop and told them to take it back and give me a Glock 26..they refunded my money wich went to my g26 and I never looked back.. I should made that decision to begin with.
Need a compact pistol, save your money and get something that works.

Homeseller, for the most part you get what you pay for,but I will hold judgement on the CD until I try out a buddy of mines. Post a range report for us and tell us what you think! Till then I will stick with my Kimbers and Springfields!

I own a CD in 9mm. I replaced the extractor after about 800 rds. Other than that I dont have any problem.
