Charles Daley 45

The one I had was a POS. Fail to feed about every other round...literally. Any ammo, any mag.

Daly, BTW...not Daley.
Richard Daley was the mayor of Chicago. Wait a minute...as anti-gun as he was (and his successors remain) maybe he did have something to do with that gun. That is exactly the kind of gun they would like to see out there.

Okay, seriously.
Charles Daly 1911s were made by Armscor in the Phillipines, and sold under several names. RIA (Rock Island Armory) is the most popular, and they have many owners with experiences far more positive than mine. Mine was six-seven years ago, and from what I read, they have come a long way in that period.
So, if you are looking at a new/recent one, you will probably do just fine.

Mine ran like a sewing machine. After I got rid of the junk magazines.
I did stick with ball ammo, and Remington Golden Saber. Both 230gr.
I did shoot a few hard cast with no issues.
I also switched from the ambi safety to a single safety.
It was my EDC for a couple of years.
I ended up selling it to fund something else. I do regret that sale as it was a good gun for what I payed for it.
