Charles Daily shotguns are awesome!

Charles Daily's are awesomely priced!

However are any of them decent enough to buy?

They look like remington 870 clones; are any parts interchangeable?

I picked one up once at the gun shop, and immediately this was my reaction :

I have'nt had one myself, but know several guys that have. They seem to work good for a little while and then its nothing but problems. They kind of just fall apart.

the guy at big 5 talked me out of it, basically he said if it ever breaks your screwed. i wanted the mossberg 500 anyway, i was just kinda seeing what else was out there.

No 870 parts will interchange

The CD Tactical is a heck of deal and well made in my opinion. Charles Daly has excellent customer service and a parts supply for them.

Very nice Benelli style PG stock
Nice LPA style GRS with rail mount
Front & rear sling mounts
5+1 & 7+1 with tube extension
Thick aluminum receiver
Chrome lined barrel
Takes Rem chokes

I would rather have this over a Mossberg 500 any day.

Charles Daly is the only firearms company that offers a lifetime warranty----and needs it.

They will send you a paid call tag to ship the gun to them and pay for the shipping both ways.

The older Charles Daly doubles and O/Us made in Japan, I love and adore. The Turkish made CDs are improving but have a ways to go before I will buy one. Mike Kassanar does stand behind his products, I'll give him that.

The above gun in Max100's post is exactly what they have in the local gun store for $300.00 Not really a bad price at all

Is it made in mexico or turkey?

Would it be as good as a pardner pump?

I prefer the Hawk 982 for durability because of the steel receiver. So far I like the CD tactical and prefer it over the Mossberg 500. I haven't had enough trigger time with the CD pump to recommend it

The CD pump is made in Turkey.

The CD tactical that sells for $300 doesn't have the rail mount, breacher choke tube & isn't tapped for choke tubes. The CD Tactical Pump that has all these features sells for around $380

I had a CD Field Tactical 12ga.

The pins for the FCG are a bit different from the 870 (about 1/4" off) so 870 accessories like a sidesaddle or top rail will not fit.

It was a great gun, very lightweight, and very accurate (I was catching 2 clay pigeons with pump action with the 18" barrel) I had to sell it to pay for the fuel pump for my car. I miss it. :(

they have the one with all the accesories for $300.00 at the gun store near me.

If you have $300 I would jump on it. They are only making a few dollars on it. You will like it.

No experience with the CD pumps. The auto varieties are made in Turkey and I wouldn't give you $1.00 for a train car full of them. Goatwhiskers

I have a CD semi-auto that was made in Japan about 20-30 years ago. It has been a flawless performer that has never had a feed or eject problem. Bought it for $100 14 years ago. It's been a great gun, but I don't think it compares to the new guns they make.

Doesn't help any considering the thread is about CD Pump shotguns. You can't compare the two because they aren't the same. Rem 870 is not the same as a 11-87 or 1100.

Is the charles daily tactical like the above one really an 870 design just minor differences in barrel fit and size and location of pins?

overall if there are just really minor differences in design it should be reliable as long as the metalurgy was good to go.

What say yall?

It is fundamentally different. No 870 accessories will bolt to the receiver, save for a stock adapter that lets you use 870 stocks.

Mag tube extenders fit the thread pattern from the Benelli M1.

I'm glad I found this post because CDNN has some really cheap price's on them. I guess I'll pass and get a Mavrick from Walmart, beside my brother has an extra 18" barrel, so i can buy the 28" barrel model.

Thanks you'all.
