Charcoal blue finish.

I'm thinking of getting a Cimmeron Model P. I really like the charcoal blue finish, with the case hardened frame, but my dealer is kind of trying to talk me out of it. He says the finish wears off to easy, and it's more of a display gun.I'm going to be using it for target practice only. What do you guys think?
Thanks.

If you like it, buy it. Just don't carry it in a holster and it will be fine. If you do put it in a holster, be sure to get a high quality lined holster, not just plain leather.
They really are beautiful revolvers.

The old charcoal finish on the Uberti/Cimarron guns is very fragile and wears and damages easily.
This doesn't mean you can wipe it off with your thumb, but firing it will cause finish wear.

All guns will get finish wear from just handling, but this finish wears faster and easier.
The up side is, it's very attractive with a deep true blue color.

I have seen some that were a brilliant blue, and some that were purple, certainly not colors that were ever seen on Colts or any other gun in the "old days."
