Looking for opinions on build quality. Been shooting my original 76 in 45-75 and worried about wear. Local dealer has a Chaperal repro with various reloading pieces parts for sale. Cycles really fast and smooth but my original kicks it's rear-end in quality.
i know what you mean,i have a 76 in 45-60 made in 1883, i am looking at a 45-60 repo carbine made by chaperal ,for a lighter rifle. my 76 has a 30 " barrel and weights 10lbs 3 oz. eastbank.
There have been a lot of reported problems with Chaparrals. Sugget you use search function and check this & other websites (SASS wire, Cas City, The High Road).
though not into CAS. i have heard that the best imports are from taylor & company.
taylor & company completes an additional quality control check on every gun sent to them. if it doesn't pass it is sold under another distributor. they sell top shelf uberti.
