changing springs in ruger p97

I have a Ruger p97DAO that I have ordered lighter hammer springs for. Do I just remove the hammer spring or do I have to remove the trigger first? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I put the next lighter hammer spring in my P-97DC and if memory serves I had to drive a small pin out at the butt of the grip. Then I could take the spring retaining plug out and slide the spring out. I kept the butt facing up and was carefull not to pull the hammer spring strut out of place. Then I just dropped the new spring in place and reversed the procedure. It didn`t do a whole lot for the trigger but it did improve it a little. Marcus

Thanks, that is just the info that I needed. I ordered the set of three lighter springs from Wolff. From what you said I need to use either the middle or the lightest spring. I'll let you know how it turns out.
