Changing sights on Ruger Mk IIIs

I like the simple adjustable sights on my Mk III 22/45, and do not like the V notch rear or optical tube front on my Hunter. I've rummaged around on a couple of sites looking for target sights for the Hunter, but am not certain how to do this.

Can the v notch blade be replaced with a square blade?

YES and in fact, you are not alone in your dislike. It's just a spring loaded blade and easily replaced. Too bad you don't like them and there are many folks that would gladly trade with you. Just happens that my old eye, like them. Some folks replace the rear blade and keep the front fiber optics .......

I took a mill and squared off the blade on two Rugers , then I drilled a small hole and put some sight paint in it and its much better.
