Changing Pistol Barrels... headspacing required?

I'm looking to purchase a ported Barrel from Federal Arms Corp of America (ad from Shotgun news). Its for my Beretta 92FS, however, will I need to check the headspacing after changing the barrels, or is it ok for pistols?

Also for anyone who may have purchased a barrel for thier Beretta, does it happen to include the locking block, or must I take it off my stock barrel & place it on the new one?

Lastly... any other pistol barrel manuf. out there on the web I could check out?

Thanks,

In theory straight wall rimless handgun cartridges headspace on the case mouth. When used in most revolvers the theory is correct.

In most semiautos for all practical purposes they headspace from the extractor.

Unless you have too little headspace (exceedingly rare) you won't have a problem.
