Changing out S&W bobbed hammer for "normal" one?

Anyone have a S&W with a bobbed hammer and changed it out for a real one? Either by yourself or a la gunsmith? Bobbed hammers just bug the fecal material out of me.

I have a 5926 with the bobbed hammer and I called Slime & Weasel and was told their was no other hammer available for that model. Hope you have better luck.

BTW check you email, I dropped you a line about some of us getting together Saturday 1/12 @ Whitten.

Contacted Cyl & Slide about having some work done and asked about the hammer. They said that the decocking hammer was notched differently from standard hammers and I was pretty much SOL.

Unless there is something unusual going on I am always at Whitten on Saturday (and Friday and Sunday), prolly see you there. I'll be the guy with the 1076 on my hip. [Jeez, did I actually just say that I was carrying a S&W auto? Somebody get a weather report from Hell.]

Guess we are stuck with the bobbed hammer's.

I'll be wearing the Springfield 1911 Stainless in 9mm, Fobus holster & white Pelter muff's. Hope we get to shake hand's in person.

A guy on another board bought a used 4013TSW, and either the previous owner or the gunsmith who had worked on it (Teddy Jacobson) had replaced the bobbed hammer with a full hammer. So yes, it can be done.

I have a 4013TSW that I would LOVE to get a normal hammer for. Mine is a decocker model...I don't know to what else you would be referring. Two positions - fire, and safety/decock. If anybody knows about who does this conversion, or just where I can buy the part let me know.

The 4013 does not have a frame-mounted de-cocking lever. It has the slide mounted decocker/safety. It does however have a bobbed hammer. I think the 4013 will take a 4006 hammer, but if you have a decocking lever gun, don't know if they can be swapped.

I also think that a 4006 hammer should fit the 4013 unless the hammer stirrup holding the mainspring is too long. The 4006 has a longer grip.
