changing old army front sight

Have a new taller front sight coming from ruger. Gun always shot high.
How do you get the pin out, which holds it in, and will I be able to reuse it.
Appreciate any advice. Not to mechanically inclined!
 
OA front sight removal

I used a small nail that is just a bit smaller in diameter than the pin, cut off the point, filed it square, and gently tapped ou the pin with the nail. Sounds strange, but works. As I recall the pin tapped out pretty easy - no lock-tite.
 
Thanks for the help JohnSmallTX. I'll take your advice. It will sure be nice to shoot at piont of aim. Had to use too much kentucky windage.
