Chances of Democrat defections?

Anyone care to venture a guess on the probability of one or more conservative democratic senators defecting to the republicans, therefore possibly defusing Daschle's power play in the Senate before it goes too far? I think it's a long shot, but given that I think Daschle is a POS who embodies the worst of what we think of when we hear the word "politician", I'm willing to hold out some hope.

Better yet, does anyone have any dirt on any conservative democrats, so we can pressure them into switching sides, ala the OwlGore campaign vs. the Bush electors? :)
 
Trouble-I don't think we want to stoop to blackmail.

Furthermore I don't think we will have to. There are already several Democrat congresscritters that plan to jump ship some have already vocalized that. Besides if Bush neutralizes some of the worst ones with cabinet appointments Daschle won't be able to do much more than grind his teeth.

If Bush gets in that is. :0

I hadn't thought about GW appointing demo senators to the cabinet... I they can find good candidates in states with Republican governors... GOOD IDEA!!!

I'm relieved to hear that you were being sarcastic. I'm trying to get my dad to read stuff on this website. He is slowly becoming a RKBA supporter. He's never owned guns before, but now he is shopping for his first one. (I'm so Proud) :)
 
Was the demo cabinet appointment idea posted in a previous thread? If so, I'll have to go back and read it. Might be a great way to spike the demo's guns in the senate, so to speak, while projecting a bi-partisan image to keep centrists happy.

Sometimes the sarcasm slips out without me realizing it... I'm originally from upstate NY, where everyone is naturally sarcastic! Maybe it's from being cold most of the year? :)

Congrats on bringing your dad over to the dark side (kidding), and into the gun-toting RKBA crowd! Just out of curiosity, what is he planning on getting?

He isn't sure. However, he says he is going to a private owner to buy it. He was angry when I explained about the 4473 form. He definitely was a rifle though. The last one he looked at was over a thousand dollars (which is way too rich for my blood, but he can afford it)

My mom isn't sure that we shouldn't just go along to get along, but I'm working on her.

Like I keep posting in various places, convert them one at a time. :)
