brownells makes or made a gauge for chamber length on shotguns.
Unless it has benn altered it should be 2.5"
Buckeye is correct a chamber cast is the only way to tell for surer.
 
It's easy to measure. Take a piece of wire and look down the chamber. You'll see the step where the end of the chamber enters the forcing cone. Hold one end of the wire against that step and mark it where it come out of the chamber. Measure that length.

Of course, a chamber cast is good, and getting a gunsmith to look it over before you fire it is a wonderful idea, but it's easy to get an idea of chamber length without going to a gunsmith.
 
Assuming it's a 12 gauge they're 2 3/4 but the forcing cones are cut wrong for star crimped shells. It won't hurt anything except maybe shot patterns. You can have the cones recut for modern shells or buy the cutter and do it yourself.
 
Note that the distance to the step may not the same as the length of the shell.

The opened shell needs to fit in the chamber, not a closed one.
