Attention Glocksers! One of my buddies who uses a Glock as a carry gun because he doesn't want to lose a good gun to the cops if he gets in a fight, had me do a "Chamber Check Notch" for him.

Please remember you saw it here first! Glocks are very dangerous guns and I do not allow them in the yard, but this visual inspection notch could be a very useful thing for a gun that has NO condition indicator. Sneek a Peek and see the cartridge rim!

I will take the barrel back now and we will do a nice test fire soon. I leave the gun there as I do not allow these Glocks in the yard.

Dave, they have an extractor with a nub on it that sticks out when a round is chambered, it will provide a tactile indication of chamber loaded. The skin of the Glock barrel is as hard as woodpecker lips too isn't it?

Glock started installing the loaded chamber extractor only a few years ago. Obviously many Glocks in use don't have such a feature.

Tim, thanks for clearing up that it wasn't always the case. What I had in mind with my post was alerting Dave that it was availalable but I didn't get that across very well.

BTW Dave, they are pretty inexpensive if he would like a tactile indicator in addition to the visual indicator you have made.
