Challenge to gunmakers...make a hollow point magazine insert.

The issue of rimlock in the P-32 is what brought on this diatribe, but it applies to any semi rimmed caliber.

I've been wondering for some time why magazine manufacturers haven't risen to the occasion and developed a hollow point magazine which has a steel strip attached to the floorplate, running up the front of the magazine flat nosed follower and spring which is wound to fit inside the strip?

All that it would take for the Kel Tek p32 would be a .3 inch wide strip of steel slotted into the floorplate so it would run in front of the shells. It could be detached for use with regular ammo. The spring would just have to be wound on a mandrel with a squared off front side instead of the rounded front side, a simple retooling. The follower could just have a flat nose.

M&M, do you know a patent attorney? Why not make your own or sell the idear? After all, as Homer Simpson's brother said before he invented the baby translator, "This is America. All I need is just one stupid idea?"

Since I'm publishing the idea today and have no intention of patenting it doesn't that put it into the public domain unless its already patented? Then who ever wanted to make them could just set up shop and churn them out?
