I am thinking of purchasing a CETME rifle. This would be first experience with HK family weapons. Would appreciate input about the quality, reliability, and accuracy of CETME.

If you want a lot of information about the CETME clones that are currently on the market, http://www.hk91.com is probably one of the best places to learn. Just do a search for "CETME" and you'll probably get more than you want to read. Most reports have been positive.
I have a CETME and am very happy with it. The latest ones are made from all new parts, not refinished. Accurate and well made. Here is a link to a good article/review
