Many of us have seen these ads.
Does anyone know firsthand their quality?
Are they worth buying for reliability or accuracy? What's up with them? Who's got one?

A CETME is a predecessor of the HK91. I shot one from AIM Surplus at the range back in August; it shot very nicely.

Imbel is a Brazilian mfr of FAL's, primarily known for their FAL receivers here in the US. Go to The FAL Files to learn about FAL's.

Both are 7.62x51 NATO battle rifles. I like the FAL. More parts available, cheap mags. Buy both if you can.

Nice thought. But if I could afford only one or the other, based on RELIABILITY and ACCURACY, would you have a recommendation?

A FAL built on an Imbel receiver would probably be better in all respects than a CETME built on any of the currently available receivers. The CETMEs are something of a hit or miss proposition.

Thanks Guys! Useful info. This may be a cheaper alternative to a Springfield. Not sure yet if it's a WISE one. :)
