Centurian arms questionon.. FAL knock-off

I recently came across two centurian arms rifles obviously Knock-offs of the orgional FAL design. The price is 650 dollars for one which is scoped. The other is for 1000 for the rifle, 4 clips, and 980 rounds of ammo, and bi-pod, no scope.
Does anyone have any knowledge about this rifle? does it use the same mags as standard FALS? and is it accurate, reliable.
If anyone has anything to let me know about this I wouldgreatly appreciate it.. I had them hold the scoped one for 650 for me so I could ask one of them later about how to dissasemble the gun and the guy who was there at the time wasn't sure. I am really looking for a FAL style rifle and figure this may be something worth getting.
Thanks

I may be wrong, but if these are CAI (Century Arms Int'l) rifles, then they are made up of disassembled battle-rifle parts, usually Brit L1A1 (inch) or Steyr STG-58 (metric). Most of the currently available ones are the STG-58 types. They will likely have been built on an IMBEL (Brazillian, uusally very good) or Hesse (US, very spotty reputation) receiver. If it is an IMBEL/STG-58, go for it. Probably okay, easy to work on, lotsa cheap metric mags. They have the same manual of arms and disassembly and cleaning procedures as the "real" Belgians. Enjoy

FAL?

Swatman-

Wait a minute. If it's a G-3 variant, it's an HK knockoff.
If it's an stg-58, it's probably one of those Century parts
collections. Of FAL configuration.

BEST source of info: Fal Files Forums. (Damn! I STILL don't
know how to post http locations!)

MUCH is going on over there right now; learn FIRST!!

BTW, many others here are way more knowledgeable than I; just wanted to slow you down. Learn FIRST.:)

You're right citizen sorry :( it looked like a fal varient untill I did some research here and found it to be a knock off of the H&K..

g3 clones

if it is a hk g-3 clone, there are 2 versions - alloy and stamped steel. the alloy has slab sides and a weaver rail on top for mounting scopes. the stamped steel has a long groove along both sides (for the retractable stock) and no scope rail.

the stamped steel receiver is a true copy of the original and will fit all hk accessories. hk contract mags will fit both guns.

an easy way (there are lots of differences but i think this is the most obvious) to tell the fal from the g3:

the g3 has its folding cocking handle mounted above the barrel just behind the front sight.

the fal has its cocking handle on the left side of the receiver just behind the forearm

the are two basic kinds of fal's: metric and inch...the big thing is that the mags don't interchange...metric parts are more available.

Most of these current HK-91 clones are hit and miss.

The best of these are the Interports, sold though AA-Ok, and the Special Weapons SW3 (built on FMP receiver). Not many left I understand, but they should be around.

Next are probably the Century guns built on Special Weapons' earlier cast stainless steel receiver.

The cast aluminium Federal Arms receiver probably falls about here.

Clones built on the stamped Hesse receiver are pretty much the bottom of the barrel.
