I just returned from a guided hunt in the King City area. The company "Hog Wild" was SUPER. They ( Mark and Jesse) worked so hard to get us pigs. It was over 100 degrees and they kept at it all day til we were successful. We harvested 2 sows around 175 to 200 pounds apiece. Mark Williams was a great host and guide as was Jesse. We will be back and tell everyone about them.

I am familiar w/ the area as well. Any chance you could post a link to a website or some contact info for the outfitter?

wow, it's wide open out there, I bet that makes for some long shot possibilities?

nice pigs

edit.. just checked the second set of photos... very pretty countryside.

It's pretty cool around there. Used to go to Jolon (in Fort Hunter Ligget) as a young guy. Beautiful, wide open rolling hills. That's really the only place I ever hunted anything. Us bunch of seventeen year old city slickers didn't have much luck though.

100 degree heat in April, bodes for a long hot summer in CA! usually does not get that hot until May:eek:I hunted around New Idra for years and have done well there. There is a fair amount of BLM land around there as well. The country holds a lot of critters.Cost of a guided pig hunt $200.00-$400.00 for a couple of days and a good chance of killing a pig or two. Some dandy Blacktail deer live there as well.

Central California has some great tasting wild pigs. Keep the loins, have local game processor grind the rest up into sausage... Best links you will ever eat...

Is the non resident tag still about 200 clams w/ the license and then pig permit? I hunted around Santa Maria about 5yrs ago on a small section of public ground. Fees were about 130 then.
It was on a trip which included Disneyland. Should have seen the Concierge... when I walked in w/ my rifle case and insisted they lock it up for the 3 days I was there...LOL

When I was going to high school, I used to hunt deer, pig, and rabbit in the Lompoc area. Just keep your eyes pealed for all the poision oak!
