celebs and gun rights?

how many celebs these days even support the second ammendment? how many are IN the nra? i know hollywood dresses everything up to look like they support guns, to the common people that is but for the most part they would do anything to make a few bucks, and even tommy lee jones had me fooled on his opinions of america.... should of known not to trust somebody who bedded down with al gore back in the day..

WHO CARES!!!!

Their opinion means nothing...even though they are entitled to it.

my only problem is celebs have a HUGE affect on up and coming kids, the "norm" and sometimes politics. I was just curious to hear if any celebs supported the right anymore.

Just for giggles..

Also do a search for anti gun celebrities. You'll be equally surprised and it will make you consider twice if you want to go see a movie or show involving them. Why put money in the pockets of the enemy? While many are fine actors and actresses sometimes I wait until I can rent the DVD before spending my money at the theatre-or have no interest in seeing them at all(Clooney, Baldwin, aw heck probably 90% of those in the industry!:barf: ).

The two off the top of my head are Bruce Willis and, believe it or not, Ben Affleck.
My statement is only supported by Affleck's statement that he is a regular Democrat voter, but is a supporter of the 2nd Amend. in a discussion with Bill O'Reilly a few years back. (Whatever that's worth.)

I care not what the views of the actor in a movie are. I am mature and intelligent enough to understand that these things are for entertainment value only. COlor me weird, but seems to me that they have just as much right to be anti-gun as we do to be pro-gun, even if they are wrong.

clooneys recent statement about hoping that Heston died was total b/s, and he will never get another nickel from me. I can understand that some liberal, rich white "gated community" types can say they have no need for guns, guns are evil and blah cause well they just dont live in the real world. What is usually tucked under the arm pit or on the belt of these same hollywood tyrants security guards? i can guarentee if they have any realy money its not a kitten. Hyppocrites.

Gotta disagree, liliysdad

I DO care(alot)about what my kids are seeing on TV and what BS is being fed to them through the media, school etc., and it is my job to explain what is truth and what is not to them. I have a hard enough time trying to cut through the excrement being taught to my children as fact in public schools these days and I'll be damned if I'm going to let some overpaid, egotistical, self righteous, pretentious mouthpiece for the left poison my kids' minds with the disinformation and outright lies that pass as fact from these pieces of you know what. So, I choose not to put money in their pockets. Rant over.

The ones who say they are Libertarian should be pro gun rights: Clint Eastwood, Drew Carey, John Stossel, etc. (Notice that I said "say" and "should", not that I know they are.)

Parents have (or should have) a larger impact on their young one's belief system.

The downward spiral of any new generation is not the fault of a movie star expressing his/her opinion. Nope, that blame goes right back on the parents.

Unfortunately, while I'm sure every single one of us are perfect parents teaching our children right/wrong and the principals we hold dear, there are millions of parents out there who let their children stare at the television for 5 hours straight after getting off the bus until it's time to go to bed.

Parents with busy lifestyles, overwhelming careers...etc, are contributing to a deteriorating family life (and the values cultivated by the same).

This, coupled with an entitlement mindset I see in so many of todays youth will eventually make a large impact on how this country is run, and the values this nation holds true.

Should be a fun ride. ;)

I also heard that David Carradine (of Kung Fu and Kill Bill fame) was a gun enthusiast. But whether he approves of us "grunts" with guns might be another matter.

Most of the celebs oppose the 2nd amendment. Only a few stand up for our rights. Charleton Heston, Tom Seleck, Steve Kanaley are 3 that come to mind at this time...............hpg

...and do you really think that the right is not capable of being overpaid, egotistical, self righteous, pretentious mouthpieces as well. Maybe the best approach is to allow your children to be presented with both sides of the issue at hand, and let them make their own decisions in deciding what constitutes excrement  . Just a suggestion.

Re: The Facts

Absolutely the right can be just as guilty, however I tend to side with the right most of the time. When I was growing up environmentalists told us we were about to enter another Ice Age due to pollution. Now it's just the opposite. They don't want you to know that the earth warms and cools periodically, naturally. Why aren't we still experiencing an Ice Age? There were no internal combustion engines, no industry 10,000 years ago. Why did the Earth warm so dramatically? They told us we had enough oil for only about 30 more years back in the '70s. What BS. We are finding more and more oil every day. They told us our oceans would be destroyed by pollution. Please. We've got Black month, Hispanic month, etc., yet if anyone suggested a White month they would be labeled a racist. I'm tired of the PC police and environmentalist stranglehold that is upon my country. I'm just appalled at what is taught to our kids. It surprises me that this doesn't seem to bother you, The Facts. I definitely have problems with some of the things going on with the right also, but far less than I do the left.

harry, im totally on the level with you. %90 of what the media puts out there is to frighten us into a submissive state where we will believe w/e b/s they can think to shove down our throat, and well i used to buy into it now i just look at the news as entertainment. I know the right wingers can use similar tactics as the left wing, but all is fair in love and... gun rights! Michael moose has to be THE biggest tool, lier and hyppocrite out of the bunch, and if i ever saw him i'd probably do something stupid. Race is a tough topic, and id rather not get into that on tfl as i have before and got railed for it, but look at that 3 burials movie that jones made a year or 2 ago, and tell me their isnt some anti-caucasian thought in hollywood these days. After i heard of that 3 burials for sanchez, or w/e it was called i was fed up with tommy lee jones lies and attempts at looking like a hard-ass and he wont get a dime from me anymore either.

Well...okay, that is your right.

In the last 30-40 years, various steps have been implemented to cut down on particulate emissions: reductions in coal combustion along with proper filtering techniques, more efficient catalytic converters, effective agricultural techniques (crop rotation for one) to reduce soil depletion and dust aggradation, etc...
It is extremely naive to assume that humans cannot alter the environment although I certainly agree with you that the planet does experience climate change despite human influence. The last great ice age ended approximately 11,000 years ago and most "respected" scientists are in full agreement that climate change is VERY DIFFICULT TO ANALYZE AND PREDICT (unlike what that vegetable Al Gore implied in his masterpiece of money-making and political magic)...that`s why scientists propose hypotheses and theories. By the way, since you asked for an explanation for the end of the last ice age; here are a couple: Milankovitch (Earth orbital) cycles and an loss of planetary albedo.

They told us we had enough oil for only about 30 more years back in the '70s. What BS. We are finding more and more oil every day.

You are correct...oil (for the most part) is everywhere. However, most of that oil is not economically viable to drill for, and, eventually, are so-called vast oil reserves WILL run out. Fossils fuels are NOT renewable.

Harry, the only thing that bothers me is ignorance...period. It does not matter whether the ignorance is left wing or right wing...just that it exists and the pursuit of truth MUST be the intent of the media. Unfortunately, their agenda is simply to scare and intimidate the masses because if the sheeple are not scared or shocked, then advertisers pull their support from media outlets. Just present to your children the truth and let them make their own judgements.
