Very, very stupid thing to have, in my opinion, especially if one is inclined to carry it.

More than one idiot has flashed a CCW 'badge' as if it gives them some authority and ended up under arrest.
 
The only reason I can even think having one would be on the off chance you were somewhere when an active shooter showed up and you tried to do something about it before police arrived. Might be a good thing to have hanging off of your belt / neck when the police actually did show up. Assuming they notice it.

Probably 9 times out of 10 it would get you in more trouble than it would do you good however.

wearing a badge will only attract unnecessary attentions... there's a reason why it's called a "C"HL! haha

STUPID idea. What's the advantage of it? Think about it. Concealed means CONCEALED and surprise is your greatest asset. If you have cause to flash a badge at a bad guy, you have cause to draw your weapon, and should have done so. If you show it, the BG is gonna draw HIS weapon and kill you dead before you can even get your hand on yours. On the legal side, showing that badge is walking a VERY fine line on impersonating a LEO.

Only Mall Ninjas carry them.
 
One of my varied associates Bubba Jr has a belt buckle one, I am shure if the truth was known that alot of forum members here have one also. orchidhunter
 
The most likely result of sporting a concealed carry permit "badge" is an arrest for impersonating a law enforcement officer. I just cannot conjure any good reason to have a "badge" for a carry permittee.
 
If they were neccesary for any reason, states would issue them along with your permit. They don't and they're not required anywhere. A person has to buy it themself. For immature people pretending to be cops in their minds. Who would someone show it to? "Check out my conceal carry bagde that I bought?"
 
I wonder if the places that sell them require you have an actual permit before they sell one? I'm just kidding, I'm sure they don't.:D
