CCW- What do you do?

Was out and about the other day carrying the G23, and had to use the restroom. My question is this, I carry at 3 o'clock, IWB and was wondering what you do with your firearm when you have to drop your pants in a "public" setting? I took mine out of my pants still in the holster, and put it in my coat pocket. Unholstering the weapon would be a terrible idea in this setting as there would be nowhere to secure a loaded weapon and I wouldn't want to do it there. But I was just wondering if anyone has run into a similar situation, and what did you, or do you do? Thanks!!!!

I remove the holstered gun and place it right there in my underwear. That way I cant pull my pants up without taking hold of my holster. I have read of people forgetting their guns in a rest rooms.

I was just curious, as I presented this same question to a friend that carries, and he unholsters his weapon and sets it on the toilet paper dispenser on the handicap rail!!!!!!

I don't think this to be a good idea myself.

Wasn't looking to upset anyone.

I have a reinforced belt, that holds shape well enough to keep an IWB holster vertical, up against my calf.

Otherwise, This is one of the few situations where a shoulder holster is nice to have...

This is why we purchase good equipment, not gimmicks like "holsters" that don't properly retain the firearm if you tip the whole thing gently upside down, or "holsters" that don't attach firmly to a belt. Someone out there is selling a "holster" that's nothing more than two pieces of floppy fabric, stitched together and coated with some rubberized stuff that's supposed hold magically to your body under your clothes (as opposed to, in your pocket where this kind of setup belongs). That's neither safe nor secure! In fact, it's a recipe for disaster.

To sum up:

Buy a good holster and a good belt.

Keep the gun in its holster.

Keep the holster on your belt.

Rebuckle your belt around your knees if you need to.

Problem solved.
