CCW Smoothness

Generally, I carry any time I'm out in clothes with a belt and have no plans to drink a beer.

Rarely do my plans require that I put my pistol in my glove box, but sometimes they do.

I also often CCW around the house, so I'm not taking it on and off. It amazes me how little my wife and kids notice when I open carry.

So, I guess what I'm saying is that I worry a lot less about printing or even exposing the bottom of a holster than I used to. That said, I think exposing a gun is kind of like seeing a deer in the road. It looks out of place to people and I think they would notice.

So after carrying for a while, have you noticed that most printing and or holster peeks are overblown?

I also have a great excuse for any weird movement I make,. . .my prosthesis hurts. Yes, I could adjust a shoulder holster in plain site and tell you my arm harness was hurting and most people would be so embarrassed they would never even think to ask if I got my gun straightened out!

Yeah, I believe a large percentage of that (small) percentage of people who even notice probably figure I'm an off-duty or undercover or retired LEO and don't give it another thought.

The general public is oblivious. They have nearly zero situational awareness. I have no fear that someone will see my gun, even when it is "casually" concealed.

I think it's natural for people new to CC to think that the world is looking at them.

I've been carrying since grunge music was the big new thing. I've only been "made" a couple of times, and those involved someone touching me.

I don't wear clothing with firearm logos, and I don't do much to draw attention to myself, so I doubt anyone's really checking out my waistline. Even if they were, how would they differentiate between the bulge made by a telephone or a gun?

Yes, most people are pretty oblivious to their surroundings and the more you carry the more comfortable you become carrying. While I take care to keep my gun concealed, I don't worry that any one is going to make me these days.
Experience and a good carry rig also helps with that confidence.

This exactly.

I've actually open carried and had no one notice. When I first started I was afraid a little breeze would move my shirt and people would see. Most people are like sheep. Don't care and don't wanna care.

Now I honestly don't care about a breeze or reaching for the higher shelf items at the store. My girlfriend doesn't even notice till she hugs me.

Absolutely overblown. I carried my Beretta 92 to a family function in an OWB paddle holster with my shirt over it. Even though there was about 1.5 in sticking out below my shirt I am 99% sure that only my cousin's husband noticed within the first two hours. That is with family who knows I'm into guns but doesn't know that I carry.

I don't worry because I was in a crowded store once when this guys pistol went off, breaking a couple of floor tiles. Of course, the police were called, they looked at his ccw license then left with no further action. So I am not worried about the tip of a holster showing once.

While you may be correct about most people, the ones you don't want to notice are the ones who will.

Do you find yourself give some people the once over because there's something about them that makes you think they might have a gun?

People who constantly check if the gun is not printing are more likely to attract attention that people with a printing gun. Everybody nowadays carry smartphones in pouches on their belts.
Also, a full-sized pistol prints differently than a small frame revolver and it is something to consider.
