CCW question?

I took the class (I live in michigan) in June to obtain my CCW, However I have yet to go to the police and finish the process. Does anyone know how long the certificate is good?

sorry I am not sure about michigan, but you might want to take a ride down there this calendar yr just in case its 6mths or only good for 2010. I know in many states the certificate is good for life, but I wouldn't rely on that being the case in MI.

3. How long is the Concealed Pistol License course that I took valid?

MCL 28.425j specifies what conditions must be met in the course required to get a Concealed Pistol License. One of those requirements is that the program provides a certificate of completion stating the program complies with the requirements of this section. There is not an expiration date on the training. However, your local county gun board will review the training certificate to see if is acceptable.

lucky for you, the certificate for handgun carry permit in TN is only good for 6 months...still plenty of time but at least you don't have to risk retaking & having to pay for it again.

The certificate is good for a long time. I recently helped someone who had a year-old certificate apply and they were approved. Like some posters said it is up the gun board where you live, but I don't see a problem. The worst they can say is no.
 
i would get the ball rolling in case its only good for 6 months, though its not likely to expire. i just read the copy i made of mine, and it has nothing stated about an expiration date on it.

Holy cow, what are you waiting for? I sent my certificate in the same day (VA).
