CCW options?

I am wondering what you all would recommend for carrying concealed other than a short barrel? do you have the same type of holster options with say a 4" barrel revolver as you would with a similar auto? I have 2 handguns now, a 2" .357 and a .45acp auto. I shoot the auto slightly better but as I have been training with 4" revolvers at work I would like to stick to one manual of arms for work and private carry. I carry my snub most of the time now but I would really prefer something a little bigger (4" is preferred) without resorting to open carry.
thanks

IWB is the obvious choice. Barring that, an OWB holster with plenty of cant will help you conceal longer barrels (less likely to show below cover garment). I used to have a Galco holster for my 4" GP100 that would easily carry the entire gun above the bottom of the average untucked shirt. For that matter, their Concealable model would do the same for a Beretta 92F, not a short gun by any means.

Here's the one I used with the Ruger: http://www.usgalco.com/HolsterG3.asp?ProductID=416&GunID=76

Here's the one I used with the Beretta: http://www.usgalco.com/HolsterG3.asp?ProductID=203&GunID=3

There are others, but those are the ones I have experience with...

Depends on your build...I have to wear a (winter) jacket to hide my 4" 686 but im thin (30" waist) and short (5'9"). My dad on the other hand can carry anything he wants (b/c hes a bear of a man). A good carry systems goes a ways but body type goes further.

BTW Just hit my year mark in the Marines...ooraahhh hazing! lol j/k

IWB for me. I can conceal a 4 inch K frame .38 everyday with no problems.

If I had to wear OWB, a pancake style holster is the only way to go. It'd bring the gun close up to the body and help in concealment.

thanks

I figured IWB would be the way to go, but I am not sure of whats avalible in that type of holster for a revolver. I havent seen a whole lot as far as good quality holsters of that type for anything larger than 2" redily avalible.
