CCW & Jury Duty

Anyone gotten Jury Duty after becoming a CCW holder? I would assume if you were on a jury for a violent crime that could make a big difference. Interested in hearing discussions about types of questions you were asked? Some states CCW holders are a matter of public record some are not. I would not like a court full of people to know that about me especially since alot of them will hate me just for sitting in that jury box.

I have been summoned to jury duty two or three times since I've had a CCL.
None of the jury pools I was in was ever questioned about CCLs.

One friend was asked , in a court case dealing with guns, 'are you an NRA member ?' When he said yes he was excused !! They play lots of games with jury selection !

I have never been called for jury duty and I'm probably one of the only people in America that actually wants to be.

A friend was called and put in the jury specifically because he was a permit holder.

The defense assumed that gun owners would be sympathetic to the guy that shot out another driver's tires on the interstate
The prosecution correctly predicted that responsible gun owners would not be

I'm 34, have been a registered voter since my 18th birthday and have never been on a jury. I'd love to be on a jury. But I've only been called once and they didn't need a jury that day.

On the contrary, my dad has never wanted to be on a jury, because he doesn't get paid when he's off work. He gets called every couple of years.

Go figure. I wish you could volunteer.

I was called for federal jury duty after having a CCW. They didn't ask anything about firearms.

+1.

joab, I want to be called to, provided it's a short trial, and one involving gun rights or other civil rights. I've never been called for state court, but I understand that being a lawyer will automatically get me canned, which really hacks me off. But when I was in federal court, they didn't care necessarily that I was a lawyer - I wasn't selected for other reasons.

I was called just last week and it was never mentioned. However it would probably depend on the type of case as to whether or not it would be an issue, ie on a case where a concealed weapon was involved or used etc.

If I may hi-jack for one second
First Freedom could being arrested and jailed on a felony charge but never being charged by the DA and the case being subsequently abandoned be cause for me not getting an invite

And I am pleasantly surprised to see that there are some that actually want to serve jury duty
