CCW, IWB Holster question/suggestions

Im planning on picking up an IWB style holster soon. I have it narrowed down to the Galco Kingtuk and Comp-Tac Minotaur or Spartan. Can anyone attest to the durability of the plastic belt clips used on the Comp-Tac vs the metal style clips used on the Galco? Im also open to suggestions of the same style and in the <$85 price point.

Thanks,
Devin

The comp-tac plastic clips are well-made and high quality. They claim to have tested them with a machine that flexes them more than anyone ever will under normal use.

I highly prefer the plastic clips to any metal ones. If you don't bend them any more than you have to you should never have to worry about them breaking. If you want peace of mind order an extra set for $20.

Take a LONG look at Mitch Rosen IWB holsters; I believe they are the best generally available. While their cost is a good deal more than $85, I suspect that used -- but in excellent condition, with many decades of functional life -- bolsters may be available on e-bay (etc.) close to your price-point.

Thanks for the suggestion but Ill pass on a used leather holster. I wont be carrying daily and I'm confident a leather/kydex holster will meet my comfort requirements.

I have had the Comp-Tac and I returned it. The plastic clips easily work their way off my belt (1.5" 5.11 belt). I use my Crossbreed Super Tuck daily.

I prefer the Crossbreed to the CompTac for comfort. I never could get the CompTac to be as comfortable for some reason. If memory serves the CompTac is a little thicker with its backing. I haven't tried the Galco. The clips on the CompTac weren't ever a problem though.

What I like now is the all leather Texas Heritage model from Tucker Gunleather. It is more comfortable and has nicer leather than either of the other two. It is $15 over your requested price point though.

Ive seen, by far, the most positive feedback from the crossbreed. However, I find myself to be very particular and between the ugly stamped on logo and those crosses found on the belt clips I'm going to go another route. I was going to give the kingtuk a shot but there is little to no feedback available on that rig. Considering cost and performance I'm likely going to go with a kholster. I like the idea of being able to trim it to fit like I want.

From what I understand the Kingtuck is a exact copy of crossbreed, whcih is why crossbreed is sueing them, but I may be wrong. Cant go wrong with a super tuck, just have a plan for the 4 weeks it takes to come in the mail.

I had a couple of questions for Jimmy @ Kholster. I sent him an email and received a response in about an hour. I went ahead and placed my order; should have it in a couple of weeks!
