CCW in Honduras--any experience?

I've traveled to some of the more dangerous parts of Honduras and am going again soon. The villages I visit are very safe, however traveling to them is not. I would like to carry a CW there, but have no experience with such. Honduras requires a CCW permit issued by them (not the US or the airline). I'm happy to play by the rules, but I also know the rules don't always reflect reality in Honduras.

I would love to hear from any of your experiences with traveling out of the USA with CCWs and especially from those that have traveled to Honduras with same.

Thanks!

I don't have any experience with this but I'd be very interested to know what you find out. You would probably need to contact the Honduran Embassy and ask their advice.

Unless you are on some security-related gov't business, I'm going to venture that the answer would be 'no'.

Money indeed talks. I've paid plenty of roadside assistance fees in Honduras...I'm just hoping someone on here has "been there done that" with CCWs

Worst case scenerio, how bad are the prisons there?

Honduras prisions are definitely not where you want to spend much time. It's the most dangerous country in Central American and of the worst 5 in all of the Americas, so that's the kind of people you'll be hangin' with in prison.
