ccw holster

It's time to replace the inside the waist band holster for my .40 Hi Power. Does anybody want to comment on specific brands that they have used? If I can't decide I will just go with what seems to be the best. Mitch Rosen, Ayoob Rear Guard. Thanks in advance.

frank2:
I have used Summer Special II IWB's from Milt Sparks for the last six years and find them to be extemely well made and believe they will last many more years.

For regular belt holsters, I use "Belt Scabbards" by Greg Kramer and I would not hesitate to recommend his IWB rigs as well.

If you're not a little upset with the way the world is going, you're not paying attention.

If you're looking at something like Rosen's ARG, but you don't want to spend an arm and a leg, you might look at Mark Waldon's Sidewinder, as it is built upon the same concept. Mark's leather is much more affordable without sacrificing quality.

I don't have the Sidewinder (yet), but I can attest to the quality and comfort of Waldon's products. I generally tote my G27 in his Raptor Defense set, and it remains concealed under a light covering garment all day long in complete comfort.

I am presently waiting for another Raptor set for my G30.

Don't let the gun-rag writers fill your head with the idea that a good quality holster should cost $100+, because this is false. I, myself, was even thinking of ordering from Rosen or Sparks before I ran across Waldon.

You can check him out at www.waldonholsters.com . His web page may not be as purty as Sparks' or Rosen's, but Waldon makes some damn fine holsters.

(By the way, I'll bet this thread gets moved to Gear and Accessories pretty soon. :D)

I just ordered an IWB holster for my Taurus PT-92. Only $29.95 + $7.25 S&H.

there is no such thing as owning just one gun!!!

Off my meds (quit smoking), armed to the teeth, and loose on an unsuspecting society!!!

Using a Galco horsehide Royal Guard for my 1911.

Really nice holster.

I use a Kramer IWB#3 for my Glock M30 and
I am very pleased with it. Another thing
I like about Kramer is avaiability. From
the time I ordered unitl the holster arrived
in the mail was 2 weeks. Sparks, Rosen, and
some of the others take up to 3 months!

Try a YCS from M/D Enterprises then try the Rear Guard or any other IWB. Wear each holster for 14 hours. The YCS is the most comfortable.

I gotta agree with Bulldog. Have two Waldons, and couldn't be more pleased. They are good value for the money, and well worth the wait which BTW, is still not so long as some of the bigger names.

Gotta put a plug in for Mark Waldon here.I have various Sparks, Rosen, Hume, Galco, Kydex, etc like I know most of us do and I recently bought a KelTec 9mm for summer wear here in KY (kinda humid and I'm a fat boy).
I ordered one of Mark's IWB specials (holster, belt, and mag pouch) and I was VERY pleased. First of all, he essentially rebuilt an existing design to better work with the stubby P11 and then told me that if it didn't work that he would build whatever I thought would work or give me any other IWB he made.
Quality on all pieces is outstanding-as good as any other maker I've ordered-and I was a die hard Sparks man for years.
Do yourself a favor and invest some cash with Mr. Waldon(if it sounds like a bit of unsolicited endorsement, it is)

I had a Rosen Rear Guard for a Kimber Ultra but didn't like it because there seemed to be excessive movement. They swapped it for a USD which is more stable in my opinion. Both were well made and very high quality but my favorite is the Milt Sparks VM2. It's the most comfortable and versatile of any IWB I've ever had.

I carry my P13-45 in a Dillon IWB. It is very comfortable and most of the time I am not consciously aware that I am carrying. I wish it had a thumb snap instead of an open top. I haven't dropped my pistol yet so I guess it is doing its job.
