CCW Holder intervenes to help a police officer

During a traffic stop the driver became violent with the police officer and started attacking him.

It's sad to see human loss, but the officer was probably already in fear for his life as he already shot the driver one time in the abdomen. I do not want to feel what the bystander had to go through, but in the end he did what had to be done.

Props to Mr. Stevens for looking out for his feeling man. And props to the police department for honoring Mr. Stevens actions in protecting Officer Harrison.

This story is being discussed on a group page I'm on, but currently looking into it more as we do not see this kind of news anymore...positive news.

Sad to see a man seemingly go crazy for no reason, but I am very glad that the CCW holder was able to respond quickly enough to stop the officer from being seriously hurt.

I remember this story... a 40 S&W and 4 45 ACP rounds to the torso and he did not go down...amazing actually.

1 stop shot..not so much unless its to the correct area of the head.

Story was from 7 years ago - do we have more modern examples? Civilians using firearms to defend themselves and others is published every month in the NRA magazines - do they have anything about armed civilians assisting LEO in a positive manner?

I am not an NRA member so I do not know...I donate to them with my MidwayUSA orders, but that is about it.

With this media here lately...its hard to find these stories unless you see it first person almost.

In July 2012 A man Named Vic Stacy helped a Brown county Texas officer, who was under fire from a man who had just shot his two neighbors, over a dog.

The man opened fire on the officer, and Mr. Stacy fire a few rounds from a .357 mag. and I belive he hit him twice, at about 65 yds

Mr Stacy was awarded a LaRure OBR 7.62 rifle, by Gov. Rick Perry, about 6 weeks ago, In recognition of his actions.
