CCW advice (PA-63 vs. 642/LCR)

I'm looking at switching up my current ccw, a PA-63. I like the gun, but I feel that it prints more than I'd like due to the large grip, and I'm also trying to consolidate calibers (.38 spl). In addition, I've noticed my father really likes this one, I'd kinda like to give it to him.

It seems like it's going to come down to the 642 or LCR for what I want. My big concern is since I live in SW FL, I need something that will disappear into an IWB holster very well. Out of the two, which would you recommend?

642 is smaller, slightly heavier, metal, and has an ok trigger
LCR is bigger, lighter, composite, and has a slightly better trigger
Both are fantastic guns I went with the Smith and it conceals fine.

Tortuga,

As Snoopy said the 642 is steel and a bit heavier but if you want the light weight of composite in a S&W may I suggest the 442. Its a .38 but capable of handling +p ammo. Too, the LCR has a better trigger out of the box but the S&W triggers tame down considerably with dry firing and shooting.

642

I don't know if you're making a good decision, going away from autos, in your case.

Revolvers always have the cylinder as the thick point. Even the 5-shot cylinders of a small revolver are much thicker than the slide of a 380. The grip may not print as much (but I bet it will) but it will be thicker in the belt.

Of your choices, I'd go with the 642, because it is heavy enough to practice with and would even be fun to shoot.

The LCR is going to kick pretty hard because of how light it is. The 442 would be in the middle.

I would recommend a Bersa Thunder 380. It is maybe a tad smaller than your PA-63, still affordable, with a nice thin slide. They even make a model specifically for concealed carry.

It should run about $280.
