CCP and moving out of state

Ok I know that some states recognize others states CC permits.. My question is what happens if you move to another state? Is it like your drivers license and you have so many days to switch it over? Do you have to complete their whole process as if a newly licensed? I am sure it varies by state so I am sure there are variations..

There's nothing in Utah law that says you have to get a Utah permit after you move here. If you have a valid IN lifetime permit (for example) and you maintained it, it would be valid here forever under current law.

There would be advantages, however, in obtaining a Utah permit.

some states run you thru a course only and some make you qualify on the range, depends on the state and how they run ccw.

Remember the word, 'valid.' Some states' permits will be invalid if you move out of that state. Many states require that you be a resident to have a permit from their state. If you move and take up legal residency in another state, that permit may now be invalid, so even Utah willl not recognize it.

Check with the state you are moving to, and the laws from your existing state as to when the permit expires?
