For damn sure, I'd contact CCI/ATK and ask them to stand behind their product. They may want you to send those to them (easy) and at the very least, they will most likely send you some kind of freebie for your trouble.

And you deserve any freebie they give you.

I can't stand CCI Blazer aluminum for a few reasons. This is another reason. I wish they'd stop making the stuff.

Please do contact them.

Odd split in the case. It looks to me like the cylinder chamber of the S&W did not support the shell case length. Only one big flash surprises me also, since 4 of the cases show the case split along its entire length. It looks very odd to me also. I have never had a problem with CCI Blazer rounds in 9mm, .357 magnum, or .44 magnum.

I think I too would contact CCI and return the shell cases to them on request.

You will be asked to provide the box with that ammo as well.

Without the lot number of the ammo, any request to CCI will be pointless.

I would look at any remaining cases for deep scratches right in the case head area at the side.

That's a pretty bizarre failure.

Times four.

That's a pretty serious problem. Fortunately you and your gun are ok. I will never use Blazer ammunition after trying their .22 ammo many years ago. After talking to other people they also noticed that some rounds weren't near as loud as the others. Accuracy was awful.

If you shoot much at all a simple reloading set up will pay for itself pretty quickly. Just a suggestion but I am very confident of my reloads being safe and much better than any Blazer ammo. Cost wise it is less money to reload high quality ammo. I guess I'm saying whatever you do I'd suggest never using Blazer ammo again.

i got these at the Jan 15 gun show in jacksonville fl non-reloadable aluminum case $14.00 per-box of 50.Monday i will contact CCI with all of the info that's on the box.

Surely, these things were not reloaded!
It's been a while since I looked at a piece of that aluminum crap, but last I checked, they were all berdan primed. It's nearly impossible to re-prime those cases. (nothing is impossible, but it's horrible work and then requires a primer that's not widely available in North America) So it's pretty close to not possible that they were reloads.

Very true, a smith can check it out. If that's the case, send it back for a replacement.
i took it to Curry Thomas he inspected it clean the burned power and alum out we ran 50 federal 357 out of it my 686 works fine again .
But reading this makes me believe it is crappy ammo.

If the chambers are oversized,I just would'nt shoot CCI aluminum through the gun again.

It works fine with brass cased rounds.

CCI aluminum ammo is great ammo but there are some guns-usually semi autos (not very many but some) that just don't like the stuff.
