As those of you who get Gun List are aware, a company is advertising LE tradeins of CCI 155 grain .40 Gold Dot, at $325 per case of 1000. Anyone have any experience with this stuff or information about it? I've got a class coming up that requires 1000 rounds and I like the idea of training/qualifying with what I'll carry. Also, I want to begin stockpiling some ammo.

Jacket thickness, cavity shape and depth are tuned to perform within the stringent FBI test protocol. The best in penetration, expansion, and weight retention.

Good stuff.

Slim, out.

Good stuff. Have seen gel results everywhere from 11-15/.69-.88 in bare gel, 14-18/.57-.61 after cloth at 1100-1205 depending on barrel length (3 to 5 inches).

FBI got 10.7/.84, 18/.57 from a P229 at 1175 fps. I get about 1205 from my G22.

The Gold Dot's jacket is bonded to the lead core, which means it stays together on penetration, and makes it better when breaching barriers like auto glass. The bullet is designed to expand enough to penetrate to vitals while still producing a good size wound channel.

The Texas DPS chose Speer Gold Dots for their .357 SIGS. I would hardly presume to argue with a Texas Ranger.
