CC choices.......

Sure, I know this horse has been beaten repeatedly in here, but I have a very specific set of parameters that is limiting my choices for the gun that may one day save my life... I want a semi 9mm/.45 (let's not dwell on that choice) that is small, has a visible hammer and a decock. The decock is non negotiable. I also am not a fan of large beavertails, on a gun at least.... I thought I wanted a P30, but after handling, it's just too large for 4 season concealed carry, and I want VERY concealed carry.. I'm focused on a para warthog, sig p250 and a kimber ultra carry; though I've heard kimber's quality has slipped as of recent. Are there any models that fit my critera that I'm not aware of?

Sounds like you are looking for a H & K Compact with a decocker. Allows you to keep one in the chamber and if fires like a DA and then becomes SA. Excellent choice.

Perfect choice IMO -H&K P2000SK variant 3 (Hammer w spur & Decocker)
available in 9mm/.357 sig/.40 S&W
It also takes the H&K USP magazines.

Put that baby in a Crossbreed mini tuck, and no one will ever know its there.

i dont think any of these are a DA/SA Decocker.

Nope. Para offers their their "carry," "PDA," and "Companion" models in their LDA (Light double action) 1911 platform, but no decock. The Sig 250 is DAO no decock, and the Kimber is SAO and has a beavertail which the OP stated he didn't want...

The P2000SK is DA/SA w decock.

Sig P239, 9mm

My Sig P239 in 9mm meets your requirements for caliber, decocker, small size and visible hammer. The gun is reliable, accurate and easy to conceal because the grip is slim and shorter than average.

well that's not what I wanted to hear about the para/p250 and the kimber... I could have sworn that the para and sig had a decock, must have been on another of the 200 variants they have... That P239 is nice, and I'd love the find an HK whose size is easily concealable, I just didn't feel that with the P30. I have some quality concerns with bersa and cz, but I'll take you up on your offer and check out the owners forums, lest you all consider me a gun snob for being partial to HK's... Thanks for the input, I'm gonna go out and handle a few of your recommendations.

Within the parameters you have set forth, I will jump on the bandwagon and tell you the SIG 239 is a fine piece that fits the bill.

Looks like the guys here already beat me to it. But when I read the OP the Sig P239 was the first thing that came to my mind.

I'd also chcek out HK's & CZ's as they make very nice pistols as well.

Let us know what you end up with.

Definitely check out the Sig P239 and the cz compact PCR. Both excellent choices and fit your requirements. I personally prefer the cz because it just feels right to me and mine is very accurate. Although, I do plan on adding a P239 to my collection someday.

Snoodge: Have no worries about CZ quality. They make excellent products, and their customer service is reported to be excellent, though you'll probably never need it. CZ's are some of the most cloned guns in the world, and they are built to last. If you're close to me, I'd let you test fire mine as much as you want to test their quality. Just bring some ammo and shoot to your hearts content.:)

OP, you're focused on the Para, Sig P250 and Kimber, but having a de-cocker is a must for you?

Then you had better stop focusing on those guns, because none of them meet your own criteria. Para does not make any de-cocker guns. Neither does Kimber - and the P250 is DAO.

I think the two best choices for a mid-sized, hammer fired, sa/da, de-cocker have already been mentioned here by other members.......

They are the Sig P239 and CZ D Compact PCR.

I've put a lot of rounds through both, and I favor the PCR, but both are excellent guns. You could not go wrong with either.

Is a 4" barrel too long for you? The FN has all the features you mentioned. the FNP model comes in .45, .40 and 9mm. The FNX which is the newer model comes in .40 and 9mm. I own a .40 FNX that I couldn't be happier with. I find it to be Sig/HK quality with a Glock or XD price tag. I would buy another in a second. I carry mine all the time even in the warm South Florida weather.
