CBS News ... You must be kidding !

I don't believe what I just saw. CBS evening news just broadcast a POSITIVE story about hunting and shooting. The story line was about how many women are taking up hunting and shooting as a hobby.

CBS has consistantly been an enemy of hunters and law abiding firearm owners for nearly 40 years. Those of you with some gray in your beards will no doubt remember the infamous "Guns of Autumn" documentary first aired in 1968. I'm hopeful that this latest story is the beginning of a recognition of how our sport is (and always has been) part of our unique American heritage.

It's just a ploy to rally the left wing in to action. To make them get more involved in banning guns. Their bringing it to the forefront again.

You could have knocked me out of my chair with a feather - I never watch network news but my wife had CBS on as she was setting up the vcr to tape survivor. And what to my wondering eyes should appear - but a positive story about the increase in women hunters. At first I didn't even realize it was CBS News and I had a hard time believing it later after the story was over - when they cut back to the anchor - but yes it was CBS. Well one positive story in thirty or forty years, only a few thousands to go.
