Cbs News, Mike Wallace Pay Brady Center

Mike Wallace was caught on tape at a Brady center fundraising event, he donated $250.00 and said he'd match equal contributions. The French allowed this anti American propaganda to take place at their embassy.

When Wallace was confronted about the donation, he lied. He told shareholders and media that he did not know it was a Brady fundraiser. Yet his name was on their special guest list!

This is very dangerous when the American media is supporting an extremist anti freedom group such as Brady Center.

And then they turn around and tell you they didnt know and that they report neutral and objective news?

Wow.....

Did anyone suggest that, and in an uncivil way?

Some of us believe in standing up against propaganda masters like Mike Wallace.

Sounds like I hit a nerve!

I guess the nerve was that this was a personal donation. I disagree with his view point, but he is entitled to do so. In fact I respect a guy who puts his money where his mouth is. What does it have to do with CBS?

Care to give me your work address??? Maybe I could find a tree hugger or PETA site to plaster it. I didn't think so.

Buy the way fiserman66, the NRA has already sent out thousands post cards addressed to Walace for their members to sign and mail.

I'm glad most supporters of the 2nd don't hold your view when is comes standing up to these liar's!

Do'n what you do best. Generalize.

You forgot your work address.

Le'me guess.....you're gonna call me a liberal next.

Let's don't get testy. If I'm not mistaken (and even I wouldn't bet on my memory being right):

1. This is old news (October '05).

2. CBS has already stated
"We allow CBS correspondents to speak at various functions and occasionally show video. We have strict regulations that if a CBS correspondent becomes identifiable with one side of a controversial issue, they will not be allowed to cover that issue in the future."

jart, this is info I just got in the mail today. I thought I would share it as an example of the media"s bias on guns.

No argument from me on media bias, particularly with respect to CBS, but they've addressed the issue. Admittedly, one suspects it's up to us to keep watch that 'ol Mike doesn't do another hit piece like he did in '94.

In my correspondence with the media, though, the issue of "freshness" was never very far from the surface. Mike showing up at a fundraiser in October of last year lacks immediacy. Anything showing up at CBS at this stage would, I daresay, be dismissed as the writings of someone not paying attention - no offense intended to whoever sent you the email.

Yes, it seems CBS and a few others have been busy hammering on Bush and the war. Not alot of gun scare until this Dick Chaney hunting story, which is turning into the media's dream debacle of the century.

Who cares? SeeBS's ratings are tanking as are the rest of the New York based media whores. With the Internet and advent of blogs the dinosaur media just can't get away with their lies and half-truths any more.

SeeBS is headed towards the dustbin of history and not quickly enough.

There is no way the Bradys or VPC can profit from the Cheney episode but numerous opportunities for them to mis-step.

One of our problems has been the willingness of deer hunters and duck hunters to throw the EBR contingent under the bus - admittedly, not at places like TFL, but at the national level.

Let someone drop their "sporting guns are OK" facade and go after 28 gauge shotguns held by septuagenarian quail hunters and they'll do more to mobilize uncommitted gun owners than LaPierre could do in a lifetime.

....IMHO

Like Napoleon said:
"Never interrupt your enemy while he is making a mistake."

True about Cheney - hard to tar the usual suspects - like those of us who like semi-auto pistols or rifles. I was tense about how it would play out politically, but I couldn't really think of an immediate downside. The gun grabbers would have to shed their current pose that they only want those evil gun and not the shotguns. Sorry, I feel bad, but I'd almost find it funny if the gun grabbers tried to use the Cheney thing to start going after shotguns. It would almost be worth it to have a hunter/shotgunner call or come up to me and say hey we got to stop them from banning/restricting our shotguns - and me say, "well it's not like they're trying to take away my self-defense guns - just those dangerous shotguns - who really needs a hunting gun anyway - it's not like you really "need" one - after all there are grocerey stores and you can always bow hunt." Oh for everytime a "hunter" has told me that nobody needs one of those guns (pistol, semi-automatic rifle) and then turned their back when asked to help defeat a proposed gun ban. But I can't go that way - may feel like it occassionally - but I really couldn't stomach letting the gun grabbers win.
