CBS' Mike Wallace mocks Charlton Heston

Mike Wallace of "60 Minutes" recently showed his true colors for all to see. At a fundraiser for the Brady Center, he stooped to a new low by mocking Charlton Heaton for his commitment to the Second Amendment. In doing so, he revealed his true character. His hatred of gun owners and the Second Amendment obviously knows no bounds.

Mike Wallace is nothing more than a small-minded, bitter, childish, antifreedom/antigun bigot who has no objectivity when it comes to guns and related issues. In mocking Charlton Heston, he also reveals himself to be a walking, talking sack of feces.

Mike Wallace Mocks Charlton Heston
Mike Wallace could be barred by his own network from covering gun-related stories on CBS News.

The "60 Minutes" showboat correspondent appeared at a birthday party for columnist Art Buchwald -- a party that was also a fundraiser for the Brady Center, a prominent advocate of gun control laws.

At the event Wallace showed a 47-second video of a past "60 Minutes" segment that, by Wallace's own admission, cast former NRA President Charlton Heston in a less-than-favorable light.

In introducing the video, Wallace called Heston the "self-righteous enemy of the Sarah and Jim Brady bunch," according to a CBS News blog on its PublicEye site.

After the video, he mocked Heston's widely seen comments that the government would take away his gun only from his "cold, dead hands."

Linda Mason, senior vice president for standards and special projects at CBS News at the time, said that if a CBS correspondent becomes identifiable with one side of a controversial issue, the correspondent would no longer be allowed to cover that issue.

When asked if Wallace's appearance in this case made him "identifiable" on this issue, Mason said that if Wallace "suggests a story that we feel is a potential conflict, we'll look at it and if we see a conflict, we'll turn it down."

So, it certainly appears that Wallace made reference to the gun debate in a way that made him identifiable with one side of this issue.

If CBS is as good as its word, we won't be seeing Wallace doing any more stories involving Second Amendment issues. Perhaps his long overdue retirement would be the next step.

No suprises there. The MSM has always been the champion of the liberal/left cause, the democratic party, and viciously anti-RKBA.

60 Minutes has never been interested in "Fairness". Is anyone really suprised by how Mike Wallace acts? Certainly not I. They are the master of ambushing someone in a parking lot and then making it look bad for them when they don't want to speak (guess nobody in the world has a schedule but them, eh?)

Let him mock Heston.

Let him raise money for Sarah Brady and crew, for all the good that it's been doing them over the past 10 years.

Million Moms? More like 238 Moms.

Their list of states receiving low to failing grades because they don't enact "reasonable" gun control legislation, or even worse allow their citizens to carry handguns, has been growing steadily.

The assault weapons ban has gone away.

Crime is going down.

The CDC says that gun control legistation has little to no visible effect on crime rates.

The White House and Congress both are hostile to their cause.

The White House was lost in 2000 with many pundits on both sides pointing to the gun issue as a major reason.

The Democratic party, their erstwhile friend in protecting criminals at the expense of citizens, is abandoning them largely because of the 2000 election.

Their director resigned last week citing the stress of continuous losses in the gun control arena.

The list goes on and on.

The fortunes for the gun control crowd have never been lower.

That's not to say that they won't rebound, but if the best they can do is resort to mocking Charlton Heston, further exposing their desparation to all to see, then I'd have to say that even Mr. Heston would say let them say what they will.

Words are cheap. Action is priceless.

Apparently, that is the best they can do, but I still say Mike Wallace needs to have his mouth mashed (as they used to say "down home").:D

Good post Mike, that pretty much says it all.

Therefore I'm not gonna say anything. :D

..I wouldn't trade my ability to know right from wrong or wisdom from foolishness for all of Wallace's money and fame....when we are both dead, he'll lose all his material wealth but I still have my conscience...

HCI's state report cards

The HCI grading.:barf: Michigan's been doing well enough to get a D+ the last 4 years at least. Hpoing we can can get it down to an F!:D

I believe that it will fall to us to hold them to that!

Who said that Dan Rather had a corner on the market at CBS for his agenda.

There's enough to go around for all.

Not really surprising though.
