so... I'm really new to the game, but many people have told me the MN state championships are better than almost any of the national shoots...
as a new working member of the club, we all shot the week before, all 12 stages in 90 ish degree weather... that was brutal, but I'm still at the point, that I'm improving by leaps & bounds every time I shoot ( almost got as good a time in 12 stages as I did my 1st time in 6 stages )
the world champion was there... Duce... he was shooting stages 4 times faster than I was
the side matches were fun... as a pocket pistol collector, I'll for sure be doing that side match next year ( I think I could maybe place in that catagory )
I was worried about shooting my 40-65 in the Buffalo Hunt side match... I guess I should have had a little more self confidence... I was just wanting to shoot it ( 1st time I've ever done anything like that ) I kinda jogged up the hill, ploped down on the rug we were supposed to shoot from ( I was expecting shooting prone from the crest of the hill ) but we were on the downhill side, & I don't like shooting prone one a fairly steep downhill... so I shot sitting... some guys used shooting sticks, I didn't have any, so I shot off my knee... as I was ready to shoot, I remembered I didn't have my ear plugs in... so I laid the gun on my lap, & while on the clock, inserted my ear plugs, ( of course the foam plugs didn't want to go in good, & it took me 15 - 20 seconds to get them properly inserted ) then I got back into shooting position... I shot clean, & when done shooting, looked over & I was 15 seconds behind the winner... DOH I guess next time I'll remember to put my plugs in before I go up to the line...
anyway... I had a great time...
any of you guys go to Morristown last weekend for the MN state championships ???
