I have come across some cartridges with the head stamp of:

"A 81" above the primer and "7.7 RIM 32" below the primer.

I think that they are .303 British., but I am not sure.. Can anyone clarify or give me more info on them?

Yes, this will be .303 British, and it's marked according to South African practice. HTH.

It appears your cartridge was made by the Pretoria West Metal Pressings Pty., Petoria, South Africa. The "A" stands for Armscore, presumably the company's owner, which was operating from c.1973.

Some internet sites show photos of this headstamp e.g. http://www.dave-cushman.net/shot/303headstamps.html where the lower letters & numbers seem to read R 1 M 3 Z.
