Cartridge wall/cylinder hole gap

Stupid question time-I just bought a new in box Taurus 608 stainless and I noticed when you load it up with ammo and lock up the cylinder the rounds rattle like crazy and if you point the barrell up all of the rounds slide easily backwards hitting the back "wall". You can shake the pistol and it sounds like a baby's rattle! If you swing out the cylinder the rounds fall out easily if you point the pistol upwards a little. It does this with both .38 and .357 in JHP, JSP, HP and ball from four manufacturers. FWIW, I was able to insert a 9mm Luger round almost halfway. This is my first revolver and I wanted to know if this is normal. Thanks

You want some clearence or the gun would be hard to load/unload. If the cases do not split when fired then it's likely OK. Does it shoot OK?

What Sam said.

You will notice that with the cylinder closed only the lower rounds will back out when you point it up. The back wall, extends closer to the cylinder at the top, so that the round about to be fired is secured quite well, and shouldn't be able to move forward or back.

I have not shot the pistol yet-today is Tuesday and I'll be able to get out and shoot it on Friday. Thanks for everyone's input.

C.R. SAM- What does "recoil plate" mean?

How bout "The thingy that keeps the rounds from falling out and the firing pin pokes through when you want it to go bang" ??:) :)

Sam....canterousity is my forte.
