Found 2 stripper clips with five rounds each, headstamp is F.M.M.P.B. II 1946, the bullet measures 7.93x53.25?????
Cant find information on these dudes, also these are rimless, and seem to be Boxer primed, and after pulling a bullet from one, the powder was square flake, and smelled like nitrocellulose, when I burnt some of it....and the head measured .473

Any ideas and comments appreciated fellas.

7.65x54 Argentine. (Aka 7.65x53). The headstamp is for "Fábrica Argentina Militar de Munición de Armas Portátiles, in San Lorenzo, Argentina.

FWIW, in 1888, Germany adopted a new rifle and with it a new cartridge, which we call the 8x57 Mauser. The original bullet diameter was .318", but in 1905 that was enlarged to .323".

More to the point, Mauser did not make the Model 1888 and was at first not authorized to use the new 8x57 military caliber. So they came up with something close for foreign sales, the 7.65x54, and produced rifles in that caliber for Belgium, Turkey, Argentina, and other nations. It is a good cartridge and the caliber is close enough to .30 caliber that cartridges can be reloaded with .308" bullets. Many Argentine Model 1909 rifles have been reworked and re-chambered to fire .30-'06 with good success.
