Carrying on Campus

I was wondering if a CCW is valid on college campuses, specifically in the great state of Alabama. I don't think I would ever carry in class, I'd be afraid of being discovered if my shirt uncovered while I was sleeping...
And isn't it funny how you are restricted from carrying in certain places like your character changes when you go there? Whatever.

Well...I believe most states have regulations that bar you from carrying on "higher educational institutions." Here in PA I'm not sure if we do...but I'm sure if your a student and you get caught you can expect to be expelled.

www.packing.org is your friend :-)

I believe Alabama is one of the rare places where you can carry on college campuses. Their state laws only apply to public K-12.

However,d on't forget, as a registered student, you are also beholden to any regulations of the college. You also may have seperate city/county codes.

Drexel Univ.

my school, from what I have been told, used to have in the books that it against policy to carry firearms "illegally" on campus. However, they realized the loophole was there for anyone carrying legally. Now it doesnt say "illegally".

Can't help on Alabama, but I have been looking into MI's, being about a year and a half away from one. It is my understanding that on the college grounds, you are OK, but in classrooms or dorms is a no-no.

Of course that doesn't help you at all. Packing.org = good :)

one way campuses disallow firearms is the like in my student handbook:

It prohibits the possession/usage of fireworks, explosives, bottlerockets etcetc, and ammunition.

cant really have a handgun without "ammunition".
