Carrying across state line

My wife and I live in a NW GA suburb and commute to Chattanooga, TN, just 12 miles away. Given recent murders and escalating crime rate downtown, we're considering purchasing handguns and carrying them in our vehicles to and from work. Would crossing the state line so armed be breaking any Tennessee laws?

Some schooling wouldn't hurt either. I don't know what kind of firearms training is required by GA to get a CCW, but I can see at the georgiapacking.org website in their FORUM, there's a TRAINING sub-forum.

Do some homework and take a basic self-defense courses... defensive pistolcraft or basic gunfighting of some sort. You might want to give your wife a LADIES ONLY course of some sort for a birthday.

+1 on the training. Safe and responsible handling and ownership of firearms is not a "as seen on TV" skill set. My father began my gun safety training when I was four. I still train on a regular basis on skill and safety and I am 51.

No, TN does not allow unlicensed vehicle carry.

OC is full of it.....Florida does NOT require a handgun be carried in a glove box.....read the statutes....clearly, a case, holster (snapped), a center consol, or for that matter a cigar box with a lid on it suffice!!
