Im curious about what wether people carry what they shoot the best or compromise for ease of carry.
List your top 1 up to 5 carry options in the order you shoot best.
Then list them in order in which you most often carry.
expainations are welcome.

I carried a 1911 for quite a few years but due to my build and
having to deal with people 12hrs a day its hard to not print
When Im in jeans a T's bending and measuring in peoples homes or offices so I carry the little 40.I shoot it about as well as the 19 and its easier to hide.I love the Pm9 and shoot it well but found I really dont care that much for pocket carry.
On the rare occation I do its A P3AT.
The 17 I shoot almost as well as the 1911,but find the 1911 easier to carry.
Bob.

Shoot best:
1. ParaUSA LDA 5" 1911
2. Glock 36
3. Ruger Sp101 .327
4. S&W 625 MG
5. Taurus 651 .357
6. NAA Guardian .32ACP

Carry Preference:
1. Ruger Sp101
2. Glock 36
3. NAA Guardian
4. Taurus 651
5. S&W 625MG
6. ParaUSA LDA 1911

I like to keep the overall size down, but still controllable. I've found I'm more comfortable carrying a wheel gun, though I still have much more trigger-time on autos, since thats what I grew up shooting. I'm much better now on the revolvers, but small-magnums pack a whollop and I'm not 100% happy with the grips on my Mountain Gun.

Typically, my daily carry is my Sp101, though I swap out for the 36 depending on dress. The Guardian is small enough I'll take it when I can't do something else, but that's pretty rare. The 651 and 625MG get carried while hiking/camping, but the 651 sees very little time these days. The 1911, while I like it, is just a bit bigger than I want for carry; I'd rather have a wheel gun, or my 36 if I opt for an auto. I'd have no problems with the 1911 as a carry gun, but like something a bit shorter and easier to conceal since I have them.

In order of what I shoot the best:

1. S&W Model 28 .357 Magnum
2. H&R Model 999 Sportsman .22 Long Rifle
3. S&W Model 66 .357 Magnum
4. S&W Model 629 .44 Magnum
5. CZ-75B 9mm
6. S&W 10 1076 10mm
7. Walther PP .32 ACP
8. S&W Model 36 .38 Special
9.S&W 1911 .45 ACP
10. CZ-52 7.62x25

The top 5 that I carry

1. tie between S&W M66 and 629 (depends on the weather)
2. S&W M36
3. S&W 1076
4. CZ-75
5. Walther PP

To be perfectly honest though, the three S&W revolvers get carried much, much more than any of the others.

If it's not obvious, I strongly favor a revolver. While I dearly love my M28 and shoot it the best, I'm not much worse with the 629 or M66. The M66 has a short 2 1/2" barrel and is much more convenient to carry in warmer weather than the M28 and the 629 is about the same size and weight but packs a lot more power. The M36 is my pocket gun and is carried pretty frequently because it is just so darned convenient. The 1076 is my #1 choice among the autos because 10mm is my favorite semi-auto cartridge. The CZ and Walther come in behind it because I shoot them very well.

What I shoot the best ...

a. 5" 1911
b. 4" 1911
c. 6" S&W revolvers ( model 27's, 28's, 686's ) in .357 mag
d. 4" S&W revolvers in .357 mag ( model 19's, 66's and a mod 27 )
e. Sig 239 in 9mm or .40S&W

What I carry .....

a. 4" or 5" 1911 ....
b. Sig 239 in .40 S&W ....

Easy for me........

I only own two handguns. One is a Charter Arms Undercover Lite Southpaw in .38 and the other an LCP.

I shoot the .38 well and the LCP surprisingly well within 15 yards. I am confident defending myself with them both and carry them both often.

Because of my usual business casual dress code I often carry the LCP on a daily basis but I shoot the revolver better therefore when winter cloths come out it goes to my hip. I carry them both with the horniday critical defense hollow points and I would trust my life to either gun.

accuracy best first
STI VIP and HK P7 PSP about equal
SP101
S&W 442/ LCR
Seecamp

carry the 442 the most (would prolly carry the LCR more but dad has it)
then the SP101 sometimes carry both.
I probably switch up to the big guns more often than I go to the Seecamp.
and I've got a dozen others that will get carried from time to time.

Top shooters:
1. Springfield TRP 1911
2. S&W Airweight 637
3. Glock 22
4. Ruger LCP

Carry order:
1. Ruger LCP
2. S&W Airweight 637
3. Springfield TRP 1911
4. Glock 22

The Springfield get's carried a lot in the winter months, but Ruger and S&W see most of the action throughout the rest of the year.

While I like my Glock, I hardly ever carry it and for some reason, I don't shoot it very well. It's a great gun, very reliable and it's a shooter, at least if I'm not the one pulling the trigger. My buddies shoot it pretty well however.

carry order
1. Kahr CW9 and LCP
2. Charter Arms Undercover
3. CW45
4. Berretta 25 acp
5. RIA 1911

It was kind of hard to determine the carry rotation as I often carry the LCP or Berretta as a bug.

Shoot best with:
1 Ruger Blackhawk .41 mag 6.5 inch bbl
2 Custom 1911 fullsize
3 S&W M&P 45 Fullsize
4 Bersa Thunder 45 Ultra Compact
5 Glock 26 9mm
6 Polish P-64 9mm Makarov
7 Kel Tec P-11 9mm

Carried most often:
1 Glock 26
2 S&W M&P 45
3 P-64
4 Ruger Blackhawk

I own many other handguns other than what has been listed. The ones listed are the ones I actualy carry, or have carried.

The Ruger Blackhawk is my hog hunting gun. I carry it when in the woods of East Texas for eradicating ferral hogs. Not practical for me to concealed carry.

For concealed carry the 1911 rode on my hip for 5 years daily. Started working a job that made concealment of it difficult. Bought the Bersa while heavy it is very concealable. My dad now carries it. The M&P still get carried fairly often if it is not to blisteringly hot. Most carried is my G26 not too heavy, easily concealed IWB, goes bang every time, I shoot it acurately enough to trust it when the chips are down.

The P-64 goes in my pocket most of the time as a back up. Actualy it sees the most time of all of my handguns as far as carry. When it seems nothing else can be carried I can carry it. It conceals with ease. The Kel Tec is primarily my truck gun. It goes bang every time. The trigger is awful, I can hit what I need to at 15 yards with it. It will not be replacing my Glock any time soon.

The vast majority of my pistol shooting is with 1911-pattern pistols, so I generally carry only guns of that type. I shoot them most often in descending size order, and carry them most often in ascending size order; 5" guns go to the range, 3.5" guns go in the holster, but I'll shoot IDPA with my carry gun, and occasionally strap on my match gun, too. I do believe in not confusing the issue by carrying guns that have different trigger actions, control placement, etc., than the guns I shoot the most.

Shoot best
1) 1911's all flavors
2) K/L frame ( in my case a 1970's model 66 )
3) Para LDA's in 4" or 5"
4) Beretta 92 series
5 ) SIG classic P series

Carry
1) Kimber Ultra stanless ( .45 or course )
2) Kahr P45
3) .38 J Frame ( 442 no dash/no lock )
4) SIG P229 in .40

Honorable mention as far as shooting well: XD's and Kahrs

I can really shoot anything well enough with enough time to get used to it except maybe Glocks. I shoot them well enough but they just don't "fit" me well enough to bother trying to live with one
