Carry permit in Onondaga County

I live in Syracuse, NY and recently applied for my carry permit here. I understand that it is very difficult here. Just wondering if anyone from Upstate NY has any input to share. Thanks
 
I live in Monroe County (Rochester metro). Most of Western NY has no problem with handguns, but it still took me 9 months to get my permit five years ago. In NY the difficulty depends on the county you Iive in. Some are easy, some put restrictions on it, like target range only or home only and some require a training class. The closer to NYC, the harder it is. I can't speak to your county, but I bet if you ask on the NY Firearms forum someone will know.

How long have you been waiting for it?
 
It used to be very easy there years back when I got mine !!
Change judge - change policy . Yes it stinks ! :(

to the point of bugging them

they are usually slow to submit and can be the one
thing that can slow down an already arduous and painful process

btw...mine took more than 1/2 a year in madison county
when i moved to pa.....took 4 days from in the door to out with the ltc



edit to add: new judge in madison county now doesnt "grant" full carry.....
