carry option for a wheelchair user

I have a friend who was recently injured in a car wreck and left paralyved from her waist down. That was nine months ago. She has carried a pistol in the past, so she is not new to guns.
I was thinking that a shoulder holster with a dobule rig to carry her two S&W M13 with 2 1/2bbl could be a good option. Any other advice?

Go with a shortened double barrel 12 gage shotgun holstered in a shoulder rig. (Weight not paramount I assume) That way she can take care of business AND get away at the same time! ;)
Best regards,
SM

A shoulder rig may get uncomfortable in the hot weather especially if the wheelchair isn`t motorized. She could probably do just about anything she wanted since she`s in a wheelchair. People have sympathy for the disabled but they`re still generally ignored. That is except for the BGs. Surprise, surprise!

The holster we distribute, we have several wheelchair bound people that purchase it, it is a concealment rig that is very accessible for a wheelchair, if you would like more information e-mail me.

Good for her ! anyone that would rob a person in a wheelchair deserves to get shot by a 12 ga.

I have a two compartment heavy nylon bag, that's made to hang from the push handles of my chair.

The smaller zippered compartment works great...

Another consideration would be a bellyband holster. Also, Kramer makes a light mesh undershirt vest with an under the arm pocket to hold a handgun...

I have a friend that tried a nylon shoulder rig (don't know the brand or type), and had problems with the holster (and possibly the mag pouch) swinging from the pendulum effect of propelling himself and hitting against the backrest of his wheelchair each time he pushed on the main wheels. It would make a distinctive thumping sound that might alert the curious to 'something' ones jacket/vest/shirt. Perhaps there were no tie downs or means to secure the holster and pouch to his belt, and that may have been the cause, but if she can try out different shoulder rigs before she buys she should do so. BTW, my friend used a Bianchi Askins Avenger after selling the shoulder holster (although I thought that a crossdraw would be better suited him).

Tell her to get all of the permits and stuff and get a Uzi full auto. Anyone who messes with her will regret it. Naw, but really, get a wheelgun in a sholder rig.

A pair of flip up M-60's . One on each side . Ammo storage under the seat . I , for one , would pay good money to see the first dirt bag that gives her a problem .

A friend of mine goes with a USP .40 compact in a big fanny pack. Yes big black fanny packs screams gun on most folks, but people never notice it on him.

I would think something simple would be better. A pocket on the inside of the armrest seems logical. Out of the way and imediately handy.

My friend finally decided on her guns. She started wearing a S&W 696 .44spl in a shoulder holster one she had special made from El Paso Saddelery. And she also wears another 696 in a crossdraw holster she ordered from Milt Sparks. Just thought I would tell the end to the stroy. Any comments on the choices.

Wow, great choices. Well prepared is an understatement. Good for your friend, there should be more like her.
