Just read an article in my local (Columbia SC) paper that Carl "Pool Shooter" Rowan was the speaker.

I was wondering about that too, Gizmo. I have a hard time reconciling the two different pictures.

Carl Rowan Sr. is the hypocritical anti-gun newspaper columnist who shot an unarmed teenager for climbing into his fenced-in swimming pool (in D.C., where ownership of a handgun is a crime). Carl Rowan Jr., his son, is a former LEO (may still be one) who at one time was a candidate for NRA BoD. Apparently this time the apple fell a good distance away from the tree.

I am fully aware of who Carl Rowan is and is not. If you'll remember, he is also the guy who was leading the charge against Rhodesia.
The problem is - our local commie rag has an article that has him as the key speaker (with a lot of pro-RKBA remarks) at a local Friends meeting.
I suspect our paper has screwed the pooch on which Rowan was present. RAJ - let's keep it to ourselves!!
